ADOLF HITLER
How He Died
The question is did Hitler really committed suicide and died? The story goes that Hitler's burnt remains, together with the body of his mistress Eva Braun, were discovered on May 4, by Soviet soldiers outside the Berlin Chancellery bunker, in the garden. No other photos of Hitler's body except from the one above were ever released by the Russians, who insist they discovered his corpse and performed several autopsies to positively identify him. But the rumors started to circulate about a double for Hitler. He was supposed to be a total look-alike, and he was trained to "be" Hitler and was supposedly going to die a martyr’s death on the battlefield so that Hitler could be glorified without dying.
The doubles would also be good for dying in place of Hitler, should the occasion arise. When Newsweek magazine published an article named Adolf Hitler's Double, in its March 13, 1939 issue, the editors were only repeating an opinion that was already widely acknowledged by the Allies. According to a recent Russian story, "Goebbels had engaged six doubles to impersonate Hitler for purposes of security and public appearances. After the capitulation of the Third Reich, Hitler had to die for the sake of vindication. There could be no doubt of his death." (Source)
BENITO MUSSOLINI
How He Was Executed
Benito Mussolini, dictator of Italy until his downfall in 1943, has been killed by partisans along with his mistress, Clara Petacci, and some close associates. Their bodies were taken to Milan from the Lecco district near Lake Como where they were arrested and then killed yesterday.
The corpses of Mussolini, Petacci and 12 Fascists are on display in Piazzale Loreto "with ghastly promiscuity in the open square under the same fence against which one year ago 15 partisans had been shot by their own countrymen".
One woman fired five shots into Mussolini's body, according to Milan Radio, and shouted: "Five shots for my five assassinated sons!"
Other passers-by spat on the bodies.
SADDAM HUSSEIN
How He Died
Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein who spent his last years in captivity after his ruthless regime was toppled by the U.S.-led coalition in 2003, was hanged for crimes committed in a brutal crackdown during his reign. Hussein, dressed in a black overcoat, was led into a room by three masked guards. A noose was placed over his head and tightened around his neck. He died with fear in his face.
OSAMA BIN LADEN
How He Died
It has been said that Bin Laden was killed in his fortress-like home in Pakistan within the 90 seconds that Navy Seals entered his hideout. No lengthy gunfire ensued and it ended as quickly as it began. Here's how the navy seals described Bin Laden's death:
"Bin Laden’s bedroom was along a short hall. The door opened; he popped out and then slammed the door shut. “Geronimo, Geronimo, Geronimo,” radioed one Seal, meaning “eyes on target”.
Two Seals kicked in Bin Laden’s door. The room, they later recalled, "smelt like old clothing, like a guest bedroom in a grandmother’s house". Inside was the al-Qaeda leader and his youngest wife, Amal, who was screaming as he pushed her in front of him.
"No, no, don’t do this!” she shouted as her husband reached across the king-size bed for his AK-47 assault rifle.
The Seals reacted instantly, firing in the same second. One round thudded into the mattress. The other, aimed at Bin Laden’s head, grazed Amal in the calf. As his hand reached for the gun, they each fired again: one shot hit his breastbone, the other his skull, killing him instantly and blowing out the back of his head." (Source)
