by - December 20, 2017

As a universal treats, chocolates can uplift moods unlike any other sweets. It comes in all shapes and sizes, as well as flavors. More importantly, it is delicious and satisfying. In my case, I have yet to meet a person who doesn’t like chocolates. Tell me who they are and I will introduce them to the delicious goodness of HIRAYA CHOCOLATES.

An artisan chocolates that is proudly Pinoy, HIRAYA CHOCOLATES is a Filipino bean-to-bar chocolate company that is an advocate of fair, sustainable, and socially-conscious practices. Think about helping our Cacao farmers.

The brand name comes from the ancient Filipino phrase “Hiraya Manawari.” I remember a TV show with the same title and loosely translated, it means a deep and sincere wish for the desires of your (or someone's) heart to be granted. The word HIRAYA is an ancient Filipino word which means "the fruit of one's hopes, dreams, and aspirations.”

This Filipino bean-to-bar chocolate company gets their cacao beans directly from local farmers, no middlemen, so that farmers earn more for their labor thus helping them secure a better quality of life. Helping them thru fair and direct trade relationship is one of the way they can do this. At present, HIRAYA is sourcing their cacao in a community in Brgy. Malabog,
Davao City which have 58 farmers.

In the very near future, HIRAYA CHOCOLATES hope that the Philippines become one of the major players in the chocolate global market by promoting locally-grown cacao beans made into quality bean-to-bar chocolate and chocolate products.

Since 2015, this chocolate company have been showcasing the best chocolate flavors from different cacao growing regions in the Philippines. They were also recognized as one of the semi-finalist in the BPI Foundation’s Sinag Business Challenge 2015 and have been featured in various magazines.
