Not a Movie Review: “Ang Babaeng Allergic Sa WiFi”

by - August 12, 2018

Can love endure without an internet connection?

Technological innovation like WiFi has given the world so many benefits and incentives, it may have made our world smaller but there’s no denying the fact WiFi is essential and it is pivotal in our life, well to many of us.

In this digital age, being single is one thing, but living a life without the internet? That’s almost like living in the the Dark Ages or being in solitary confinement-- minus the jail bars. As much as we hate to admit it, we eat, breath, and live our lives on the internet and the only time we go offline is when we need to get some sleep. We even manage most of our relationships online, and for a lot of people, those “likes” and “comments” have become a gauge of their friendships.

But what if you were left helpless by WiFi because it makes you sick and you can’t function because of it? To put it bluntly, you develop an allergy to it. Such is the sad fate of Norma who is in the prime of her life, and just started going to college. What more, she’s also in the throes of being in love and in a relationship with the school’s basketball star player. To get better, she is forced to live in a remote province, pushing her to reevaluate her relationships and the boy she believes is her one true love.

This sweet dilemma is what “Ang Babaeng Allergic Sa WiFi” is focused on. A fresh new look at love in this digital age which CIGNAL ENTERTAINMENT, the new original content division of CIGNAL, in partnership with THE IDEAFIRST COMPANY and OCTOBERTRAIN FILMS produces. It is also Cignal Entertainment’s first venture into full length feature film production and is one of the eight feature films chosen by the Film Development Council of the Philippines for the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 2018 which is scheduled from August 15-21, 2018.

The movie stars Sue Ramirez, Markus Peterson, Jameson Blake and is directed by award winning director Jun Robles Lana.

This photo sums up the movie! Seriously!

Sue Ramirez who has come a long way from being Joy/Ligaya in Pangako Sa Yo just gets better and better in every movie she’s doing. “Ang Babaeng Allergic Sa WiFi” is tailor made for her and with the able support of Markus and Jameson and the rest of the characters, she carried this movie real well. I'm telling you, this is one entry for the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 2018 you shouldn’t miss. Find out why this is the most talked about movie this year and see the full length film of the most viewed movie trailer.

Two lovely characters!!!
