SM SPECIAL ‘BEARS OF JOY’ HONORING FRONTLINE WORKERS IS NOW AVAILABLE IN ALL SM BULACAN MALLS
The SM Bears of Joy project returns this holiday season to bring color back into Christmas and to remind shoppers that a little generosity can go a long way in uplifting the spirits of others.
A joint project SM cares and Toy Kingdom in partnership with SM Supermalls, SM Bears of Joy is an annual initiative that encourages shoppers to share the joys of Christmas through the simple act of giving. This year's Bears of Joy took inspiration from the selfless dedication, remarkable sacrifice, courage, and commitment of Filipino front liners.
The four specially designed plushies are named Kit the Doctor, Heart the Nurse, Ace the Soldier, and Max the Police. Each name corresponds to driving forces that contribute to the indomitable Filipino spirit. Kit’s name stands for hope; it means that people can thrive no matter what happens. Heart’s name means love; the reason why people do what they do.
Ace the Soldier, whose name means unity; underscore the importance of coming together as a community so that people can stand strong amidst the pandemic. Max’s name resembles strength; it means that no matter the adversity, challenge, or tribulation, people will come out victorious and strong.
To take part in the initiative, shoppers can purchase a pair of toy bears for Php.200, where one goes to the customer and the other is left for donation. To make the donation more personal and heartwarming, shoppers can write down their messages together with their name on the card that are attached to the bears. All collected toy bears will be donated to SM’s chosen beneficiaries. These beneficiaries range from orphanages, child community centers or chosen frontline worker.
The Bears of Joy is available until December 25, 2020 at the Toy Kingdom designated booths at the ground level of SM City Marilao and SM City Baliwag, and at the main atrium of SM City San Jose Del Monte.
