Sun Life Live Brighter Session Inspires to Pursue Your Dreams
The way to success does not always begin
on a paved road. In most of the autobiography and biography of successful
financial gurus I’ve read, there are incidences in their life where hardship
and obstacles were in their way and they manage to overcome them.
During the Sun Life #LiveBrighter
session I attended three days ago, I was amazed to listen to two people with
humble beginnings and how they turned success around in their personal journey.
Looking at Apprentice Asia winner’s Jonathan Yabut and Sun Life Financial
Advisor’s JP Cruz, you would have thought that it is easier for success to find
them, they look so confident and assured but each have a story to tell and
wisdom to impart.
Overall, the session is an eye-opener.
Yabut said that work principles has brought him to where he is now. After
winning at Apprentice Asia, he worked for Tony Fernandes’ Air Asia. Fernandes
is one of the world’s most successful people, a Malaysian business mogul whose
work ethics is admired by everyone. Yabut also emphasized on the importance of
serving a social purpose and this is what will keep you inspired to keep on
improving your work. The same goes for JP Cruz whose motivation to success
stemmed from a personal reason. His ex-girlfriend
won’t marry him because she had doubts whether he will be able to feed and
support her should they get married. He found a deeper reason to pursue success
and now he fined this reason to help people in in achieving lifetime financial
security with his work as Sun Life Financial advisor.

Session like Sun Life #LiveBrighter is
an inspiration. Sun Life Financial Advisor Recruitment Manager Fin Bernardo is
right when she said, “There is so much
inspiration to be had in this Live Brighter Session, between Jonathan and JP’s
stories. I’m sure that the bloggers who joined us found motivation to continue
pursuing their dreams and finding a purpose to serve. We hope that this also
opens to them opportunities that they can also enjoy if they become a financial
advisor. It is a career that’s definitely meaningful, and the same time
financially rewarding.”

After the session it made me think, what
is my purpose in life? What do I really want? Nowadays, millennial is getting a
bad rep. People think they are cruising through life easy and everything is
just a lark. They live their life in a way that it look like as if there is a
short-cut to success. Maybe there is or there is not but one thing is clear
after the session. Do something you love and be good at it and if you are
getting paid for something you love doing and you are helping others also
achieve their dreams, then it’s good.
