MILO launches 2018 MILO Sports Clinic program

by - March 12, 2018

For many decades now,  Milo has been a part of many Filipino children.  We all grew up with Milo. Aside from the drink,  Milo is also known for its Milo Sports Clinic which, for more than three decades have encouraged parents to get their child into sports.

There was a time when my brother and I would like to join the sports clinic whenever we sa it on tv commercial but sadly,  the sports clinic is not available in our province then. So we just content ourselves by singing a few lines of Milo theme song "great things starts from small begginings..." while doing karate motions or basketball.  Those were the days.

This fond memories came back when I attended the presscon of 2018 Milo Sports Clinic which carries the theme "Get Your Child Into Sports." During the presscon held at the Alphaland Southgate,  Mr.  Willy de Ocampo,  Nestle Philipoines Inc.,  Vice President stresses the importance for children to be immersed in sports throughout their developing years. He said,  "Aside from building their health, sports also teaches a lot of life lessons to children, This is a perfect time to instill the different values that will help their character, which will help them in school and in life."

Now on its 35th year, the clinic  will feature 18 sports namely badminton, basketball, bowling, chess, cross-fit for kids, fencing, football, futsal, golf, gymnastics, ice skating, karatedo, lawn tennis, parkour, swimming, table tennis, tough rugby and volleyball and will be handled by expert coaches and instructors, who use modern and scientific approaches to help children appreciate different sports and live a healthy and active lifestyle.

Being the longest running and most widely participated sports program in the Philippines, the MILO Summer Sports Clinics has produced graduates such as popular basketball players Thirdy and Kiefer Ravena and Chris Tiu, taekwondo's Japoy Lizardo, volleyball player Alyssa Valdez, who was at the launch, and gymnast Kaitlin de Guzman, a gold medalist in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Malaysia.

After the presscon,  children and parents who were present that day get to sample the clinic by playing tennis,  gymnastic,  basketball and soccer.
