BOTEJYU®, Japan’s Okonomiyaki Pioneer Opens 7th Philippine Branch in Ayala Malls Feliz

Since 2016 foodies in the city have been enjoying authentic Japanese cuisine from BOTEJYU®, Japan’s Okonomiyaki Pioneer and Premier Specialty Restaurant Chain. Some Pinoys may have this preconceive idea that Japanese food are expensive but at BOTEJYU® they might find that this is not the case and they will also enjoy dishes that are synonymous with the BOTEJYU® brand in Japan.

BOTEJYU® was established in 1946 in the gourmet city of Tamade, Osaka. The restaurant name, BOTEJYU®, was coined from the rhythmic cooking sound of okonomiyaki. Its first part of the name, “BOTE” comes from the flipping sound of the okonomiyaki and the second part of the name, “JYU”, represents the sizzling sound as it cooks on the teppan grill.

Watch this video to hear that BOTEJYU® sound.

As an okonomiyaki specialty restaurant representing Japan, Botejyu is particular about each and every ingredient that goes into their food. Their policy is “crispy on the outside, light on the inside,” is strictly followed no matter where Botejyu is located anywhere in the world.

Its famous batter is the result of many years of development and is made mixing the carefully ground premium of their natural broth (squid, shrimp, bonito, kelp) that allows them to produce a flavorful, aromatic and crispy okonomiyaki.

Last August 3, 2018 BOTEJYU® officially opened its seventh Philippine branch located at the Level 1 of Ayala Malls Feliz . Executives and officials of Botejyu Japan, VIVA International Food and Restaurants Inc., and Ayala Malls Feliz graced the opening. Viva stars Ara Mina and Patricia Javier were also present at the said grand opening rites.

One of the highlights of the opening is the Omasuba Ceremony where a big Omasuba takes the centerstage and cut by the guests.

Since its 2016 launch, tens of thousands of Filipinos have been enjoying the authentic Japanese cuisine of this renowned okonomiyaki pioneer. Aside from the Legendary Okonomiyaki and Okosoba dishes, Botejyu also offer unique signature dishes such as the Premium Moonlight Okonomiyuki, All-Star Takoyaki, the Philippines No. 1 favorite Amiyaki Grilled Pork Rice Bowl, Shrimp Tempura, Chicken Karaage, the Osaka Premium Moonlight Yakisoba with its special sauce, and the absolute best Mentaiko & Potato Mochiyaki. And wouldn’t you know it, their Tokyo Honey Toast is one of the best desserts I’ve tasted.
