SM City Marikina Hosts 2nd Pedal Faculty BIKEcation and Fun Ride 2018
SM City Marikina’s week-long
celebration of Pedal Faculty 2018 culminated last July 28, 2018 with the BIKEcation and Fun Ride attended by more than 400
bikers. Despite the gloomy weather, bikers across the city
and nearby cities turned up in full force. The registration area
become festive as several bikers arrived in costumes and participants from the City Government of Marikina led by Marikina Vice Mayor Jose Fabian Cadiz,as well as from the Marikina Bikeways Office and Tambikers
Marikina came wearing their colors.
The 2nd Pedal Faculty is part of SM’s 60th Anniversary Celebration and is hosted by SM City Marikina where for a week, it featured a rare display of historic and emerging trends of 60 bicycle units in plain sight of its Atrium.
The campaign aims to promote bicycle safety and health benefits of cycling and to achieve the greater use of bicycles as the most energy efficient urban transport mode with a high potential to reduce energy consumption.
