SM AND MS. PHILIPPINES EARTH 2019 DELEGATES PROMOTE GREEN INITITIATIVE IN BALIWAG
Candidates of Ms. Philippines
Earth 2019 made a stunning visit at SM City Baliwag to instill environmental
awareness through SM Green Bag initiative followed by a glamorous Hair Style
Competition in the afternoon.
Miss Philippines Earth Organization is
committed to producing world-class beauties that will embody preservation of
the Earth and the conservation of its resources in the country and
International. Their partnership with SM made way to boosting the SM Green Bag,
the country’s first reusable bag made out of 100% recyclable, non-toxic materials.
The proceeds from Green bag purchases goes to an organization that aims to
protect the environment. SM Green Bag initiative strongly support the “no to
plastic” movement as each bag is designed to save up to three plastic bags at a
time.
Lauded as the only multi awarded
reusable shopping bag in the Philippines, SM Green Bag has been cited by the Department
of Environment and Natural Resources as a model for environmental activism in
2010. Two years later, SM Markets won the Philippine Quill Award from the
International Association of Business Communicators and was declared Champion
for the Recycling Category and Candidate Master overall of Zero Basura Olympics
for Business in 2013.
At SM
Hypermarket Baliwag, candidates spend quality time with shoppers encouraging
them to reuse shopping bags and support SM I
choose to reuse campaign by way of availing SM Green Bag for their
shopping. Another worthwhile activity is the Pledges for the Earth, where the
candidates urged shoppers to create a pledge for Mother Earth in a form of
writing.
Aside
from the integral part of promoting environmental awareness, Miss Philippines
Earth candidates also treat shoppers of SM City Baliwag to a glamorous Hair
Fashion Show hosted by Miss Philippines Air Zahra Bianca Saldua. The show gave a
rare glimpse of the Miss Philippines Earth candidates’ beauty through an elegant
showcase of their uniquely styled hairs while representing their respective communities.
Hailed as
winners of the Hair Challenge were GOLD Medalist Ana Thea Cenarosa of Iloilo
City, SILVER Medalist Janelle Lazo Tee of Pasig City and BRONZE Medalist Mae
Angela Miguel of Castillejos, Zambales.
Prior to their visit at SM City
Baliwag, Miss Philippines Earth candidates had their tour around selected SM Market
branches nationwide to take on meaningful activities and special performances
that will create moments of connection to shoppers and the environment. The
candidates’ Final Talent Competition will be held on July 7 at SM Southmall.
