Light Network Special Coverage of SONA 2016 Pangako ng Pagbabago

by - July 31, 2016

July 25 marks the country’s new journey as the sixteenth president of the Philippines,  His Excellency Rodrigo Roa Duterte face the nation as he laid out to the Filipinios his State of the Nation Adress for the first time.

I’m not into politics really and I’ve grown weary of listening, watching and reading about it. The last time I was this excited about SONA was when then Pres. Fidel V. Ramos took his first SONA, and it was a school project. But when Light Network invited me to watch first-hand their live coverage of SONA 2016, I got excited and even though I’m not into politics that much, Pres. Duterte is another matter and I want to hear what are his plans for our country in the next six years.

The special coverage took place at ZOE Studio by Light Network, owned and managed by ZOE Broadcasting Network Inc. It was a different experience for me to witness how a live coverage is being done and kind of exciting.

Light Network brought together an impecabble guest panelist with the likes of Sen. Rene Saguisag, Ms. Etta Rosales, Dean Amado Valdez and Atty. Jeremiah Belgica. It was hosted by Mari Kaimo and Ms. Claire Delfin.

Before the SONA started, discussions and speculations were given as to how President Duterte will go about his administration and many of them were concerned on the extra judicial killings that have been rampant since the President took his oath. But overall there is hope and expectations that the Duterte administration will spur the country to greater heights and that the Pangako ng Pagbabago won’t be just a promise but a reality for all Filipinos.

Thank you Light Network for this wonderful opportunity and thank you for the chance to meet in person Sen. Rene Saguisag.
