Perla, a Proudly Pinoy brand, is the first natural laundry soap brand in the Philippines. According to Perla Brand Specialists Quiel Estrella, Perla has been around since 1949 and with its nearly seven decades history, the caring Perla experience has been passed on through generations – from our grandmothers to our mothers, helping them take care of our clothes.
Perla
is very memorable to me because when I was a child I remember my Aunt getting
berserk over it when she found out that the very soap she’s been using exclusively
were used by our maid washing her unmentionables. I know it’s a laundry soap
but my Aunt was using it as her facial soap because she’s “hiyang” to it. Since
that day I always thought that it’s a skin soap and not a laundry bar.
To some, Perla may be just a laundry soap and we don’t know that much about Perla really so here are 8 things why Perla is a proven, tested, and trusted soap over the years and why Perla remains the number one choice of many Filipinas when it comes to maintaining delicate clothes:
Perla
is known for its gentle cleaning properties without the harsh and harmful
ingredients. It is made from 50% pure coconut oil, which has strong
antibacterial properties and contains lauric acid. As an excellent natural
cleaning agent, lauric acid traps oil and dirt and makes it easy to wash away.
Each bar of Perla also contains glycerins – a natural moisturizer that makes clothes much softer as well as our skin. Plus, it contains lavender extract, giving every wash a clean, fresh scent.
The
Original White Perla soap (available in both long bars and cut bars) naturally
and gently cleans your special clothes, officewear, sleepwear, underwear, baby
clothes, and whites.
Perla
is less abrasive compared with the other brands making clothes last longer. It
retains the credibility of colored clothes without compromising the strength of
the fabrics even after several washes.
Laundry
water is not the same everywhere. Hard water, like water from poso (artesian
well) in the provinces, contains high levels of calcium and minerals that will
lead to yellowing of your special whites. For your special whites, you can use
Perla Original Blue (available in both long bars and cut bars). It is a
pure soap made from coconut oil and has a natural blueing agent that
counteracts yellowing so no need for bleach!
Perla
is made from natural ingredients.
Perla
is also hypoallergenic to our skin so no need to worry about your loved ones
getting allergies or rashes. You can use the Perla Papaya variant with
papaya-extract (available only in cut bars).
Lastly,
Perla is made from pure coconut oil which is 100% biodegradable, making Perla
environment-friendly and supportive of the local Coconut Oil industry.
