Pfizer Philippines Foundation Inc. continues to save lives
Your
blood can save lives. This is the truth and in light of this, Pfizer's
non-profit arm, Pfizer Philippines Foundation Inc., (PPFI) together with the
Philippine Blood Center, conducted an inter-company blood drive as one of the
organization’s volunteerism projects last August 10, 2018.
During
an informal talk, Geoffrey Garcia, PPFI Manager, shared, “For over 20 years,
PPFI has been working with different organizations to execute programs that
help improve healthcare access for Filipinos.”
“Blood
is a precious gift that we can give to patients suffering from life-threatening
conditions. Through the blood donation of our generous volunteers, we are able
to play a part in helping save lives,” he added.
Over
100 volunteers took part in the initiative, exceeding the foundation’s target
number of blood bags for the day, a lot of help along the way for that adequate
and available supply of safe and quality blood and blood products.
Pfizer
Philippines Foundation, Inc. (PPFI) as the corporate social responsibility arm
of Pfizer Philippines has been solidifying Pfizer’s leadership in contributing
to Philippine society.
By
collaborating with NGOs, the government, and other agencies as well as actively
promoting employee volunteerism, PPFI aims to initiate and develop sustainable
equity-based programs that will significantly improve healthcare access on
three focus areas: HIV/AIDS, cancer, and nutrition.
PPFI
seeks to serve communities to improve health outcomes for a healthier
Philippines.
